GUESS WHAT: ANOTHER HAUL

Hi friends! I hope you're all doing well, especially if you have AP tests like me these two weeks (or IB tests, which I believe are happening around this time as well). It also looks like I have a bit of a stress shopping problem, because I might have bought some things again this past weekend. Let's get into it!

1. Brandy Melville Jada Dress ($35 at Pacsun, select Pacsun stores carry Brandy Melville) 

I've been eyeing the burgundy/maroon Jada dress for a few months now and I've never been able to justify the $35 price tag that comes along with a thin little dress. However, when I was in my local Pacsun, there was a sign that said 25% off Brandy Melville items so in my frenzy, I went over and immediately got this dress, which was great. Except the dress wasn't part of the deal because it wasn't on the rack that the sign was on top of, so I ended up paying $35 because I can't read. Either way, it's still a cute dress and I think I'm actually going a date next weekend so I think I'm going to wear this dress with booties! 

2. Watch ($1) 

As some fellow AP students may know, a watch is so important for tests since proctors often forget to tell you how much time is left and at my school, the clocks are often not functioning. I went into Walmart one afternoon to quickly pick out a watch, until I found this Michael Kors-esque watch for only one dollar, which made my little minimum-wage heart very happy. It's been functioning and it looks much more expensive then what it actually was. 

3. Moto Jacket ($20) 

Moto jackets are considered so stylish for fall/early spring and I saw this jacket and it was perfect. I actually don't have any jackets, like in between cardigans and winter parkas so I could actually justify buying this. It doesn't actually have any leather on it, but it is mostly a gray fabric with black lining on it. It actually reminds me of the Anthropologie Anna floral moto jacket, just without the price tag.

4. Sweater ($3) 

I know May isn't the season to buy sweaters, but I've been thinking about what I'll need this fall/winter in Chicago so I saw this basic black cable knit sweater for $3 in my size and I just couldn't pass it up. It's just your typical black cable knit, that'll be cute with fleece-lined leggings and some cute riding boots and a scarf. 

5. Victoria's Secret PINK bras (2 for $42.50)

I know some people get weirded out by talking about bras, and if you're one of those people, you can just click on a different post or scroll down past this part. I also won't be showing the ones I bought, but I will be adding in some pictures from the website to show the ones I got. These aren't really too special, just normal bras. I was really excited to go into the dressing rooms though, because my local VS store just got redone so it's basically brand new and really nice.

6. BOOKS

I know, books don't really have anything to do with a fashion haul, but I love reading whenever I get the time. I actually needed to pick a modern book for my AP Lit class, since the test is now over, so I went to a bookstore to get A Game of Thrones, but then I also saw Life of Pi and Brave New World, so I walked out with three books yesterday afternoon. I'm super excited to start reading all of these novels! 

Okay, I think those are all of the things that I purchased within this last weekend. I hope you guys have a good week, especially if you're taking tests like myself. I personally have three tests this week (biology, U.S. Government, and Macroeconomics), and I am hardcore cramming today for all three. Good luck ladies!  

AN APOLOGY AND AN UPDATE (and a haul, of course!)

Oh mon dieu! I have been gone for over a month, besides the occasional Polyvore post. I am sorry for not having posted anything in AGES, which I will definitely try to work on. So here's my grand update/apology/bonus haul as an attempt to make up for my absence.

In big news, I finally caved and purchased a Macbook Pro and it is beautiful. So beautiful that I refuse to let other people touch it, just because I paid $1200 for this beauty. Also I don't have another $1200 laying around if this one breaks and this laptop is going with me to college this fall so it's important.

I have also been interviewing and finishing up college things recently and hopefully I'll enter this weird limbo state in between stressing about applying and deciding on a college. This year has definitely been a whirlwind and I am so glad to finally be in the eye of the storm because it has been a long time coming. I have one last interview next week for one of my top schools so we'll see how that goes!

If you guys have been following my exercise blog, you'll know I've been doing the Insanity workout. Today is the last day and final fit test and I'm not sure what I'll do because I actually haven't been working out this week since I caught a very un-fun cold.

Okay, you guys know me, I can't stay away from buying things, especially when it's sluggish and gross outside. The weather just prompts me to go do things, like shop online or hit up Pacsun 3 days a week (which actually happened this week...) It's actually not that much damage since my bank account needs a break after the dent my Macbook left. Here we go!

1. Forever 21 Skater Skirt in Hunter Green ($6.80)

Guys, we all know you can't go wrong with a basic skater skirt, especially in this awesome hunter green color. This skirt was only $6.80 (basically calling my name), pretty thick, and can be layered really well. It's just a nice basic in a nice color and I've already worn it a few times with sweater tights and a shirt during days when I feel dressy.













Okay, before I go into the rest of the items, let me justify these purchases in saying Brandy Melville is rarely a part of the Pacsun deals and it was a really great deal. Right now, Pacsun is having their blue dot sale, which basically means that you can buy two things and get three for free as long as they have a blue sticker on them. And a lot of the Brandy Melville and Kylie and Kendall things were a part of this sale, so I highly recommend getting on this deal.

2. Brandy Melville Nadine (?) Top ($19.95)

This shirt is so soft and just a basic striped shirt from John Galt, who I believe is a designer for Brandy Melville. This shirt is also the reason why I went in on this deal.

3. Brandy Melville Girls Bite Back Muscle Tee ($18.99)

This is just a basic muscle tee with the "Girls Bite Back" quote and drawing of teeth on the side. It's super comfy and I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer. Both Brandy shirts were one size, but I'm a Small and I fit both shirts. I feel like Medium will be okay wearing these, but Large may feel a little uncomfy in these.

4. LA Hearts Skater Skirts in Charcoal, Light Grey, and Heather Green (all FREE)

So these are just some basic skater skirts in charcoal, light grey, and heather green. These colors will definitely go with everything and I think they'll pair well with a plain black or white tee on days when I don't want to wear pants (EVERY DAY). I also think it'll go well with the Brandy tops or any other crop tops.

5. Macbook Pro 13"

AHHHHH this is my baby. I have Office on here and basically it's super efficient and un-laggy, unlike my last laptop (which was literally probably older than me). This is really good for work and watching Masterchef Junior until 3 in the morning every day (or whatever weird show you watch late at night, I know you have one).

Fall Haul

Hi my lovelies! Okay, I really love fall clothes because fall is just a nice season with comfortable temperatures and nice color changes. I didn't really get sweaters, but I did get a few things to wear. So first I hit up Pacsun and then today I hit up Dick's Sporting Goods. Let's go!

So I went to Pacsun a few days ago and then I saw a sale that was buy one, get three free which was crazy. I believe it's still going on too! There were a lot of swimsuits, but many shirts and dresses were on the racks. I paid $23.50 for three dresses and a shirt! WHAT even. If I had paid full price, I would have had to pay $119.80 or $73.92 if they were just normal sale items. I'm just fairly impressed that I saved that much, but anyways I'll show you guys what I got now.

1. Nollie Basic Short Sleeve Scoop T-Shirt (FREE, so much gratification in typing that)

This shirt is a nice basic graphic for lazy days. I can throw it on top of black jeans, like in the picture and be set to go with a messy bun and glasses. Sidenote: wearing my glasses to school this year has created my new label of unofficial hipster of my senior class. But I really like the discreet floral print, as you will see with the dresses. Oh and I got this in a size Small, but one of the dresses I got was a Medium and it fits like a Small.

2. LA Hearts Polka Dot Dress

I'm not quite sure what style this dress is but I want to say a shift dress. Anyways, it's got nice opalescent buttons and then small polka dots all over and a racerback. However, the only problem I have noticed is that I can't easily put this on or take it off, mainly because you can only slide it on over your head, but I think my arms are awkwardly muscular and it is a great struggle attempting to stick my arms through it. Other than that, it's a very cute dress and I can see myself layering sweaters over it. It's also flowy and light so I can pair tights under it.

3. LA Hearts Floral Dress (one was $21.99, the other was free)

So it turns out that I got two of the same dresses just in a different pattern. Originally I had put a different daisy dress on hold the day before I made the purchase, but the changing workers had put it back on the sales rack and I guess someone else got it. Darn. Anyways, these dresses are cute and they have a built-in slip underneath, with a side zipper and a bow back. One is in black with small, discreet little white flowers all over it and the other is cream with bigger red flowers all over it. However, I bought one in a Medium and one in a Small and they both feel a size smaller than they claim. I can still fit both, but I have more of a struggle with the Small one because I think it's meant for people with little waists and hips and I have neither so.

I also went to Dick's Sporting Goods this weekend since I traveled to one of a bigger mall about an hour away for a college interview. Oh man, it might just be me, but I love the smell of walking into a sports store like Finishline or Dick's or just a Nike store. Anyways, I'll get to showing you guys what I got there.

1. Nike Dri-Fit Running Printed Modern Tempo ($23.99 instead of $34)

I actually saw this pair in black when I was in Greece over spring break this year, but the euro conversion made them way more expensive than if I bought them in the US so I decided to buy them when I got back. I totally forgot until I saw these in Dick's and I had to get them. These are in XS, but I don't think they fit uncomfortably which is good. They have the built-in spandex and they are really nice for running or just lounging around.

2. Nike Dri-Fit Training Fly Knit 3.5" Shorts ($21.97 instead of $30)

I am such a sucker for neon colored/patterned shorts and when I saw these, I knew I was going to end up walking out of the store with them. These are made of a really breathable material and I know I can get a lot of runs in with these.

3. Yaktrax Cabin Socks ($12 BOGO deal)

I saw these by the checkout line and it just took one feel to know that these socks were meant to be with me. They literally feel like my feet are in the comfiest sweaters I could ever imagine. And I got a pair for my brother and I think we both are getting each other more pairs for Christmas. I picked men's socks mainly because the patterns were cuter than the women's, but I highly recommend these to anyone who likes comfy socks.

Summer Lookbook

Hola friends! Long time, no see, which I know is my fault. I promise I'll try to post more regularly from now on! I've been really caught up in college applications and training for this half-marathon, which is turning out to be crazy hard. So lately, I've gotten some new things and I'll show you guys some outfits!

A lot of people have seen this shirt and my friend surprised me with this shirt for my birthday along with a couple of other gifts. It's a Brandy Melville crop top, but she got it at Pacsun. It's super comfy and I can wear anywhere. I can make it look soft grunge with a flannel over it and some leggings. I can wear it with some shorts and sandals or when I'm just lounging around. Here I have some high waisted slightly destroyed shorts that I DIYed last summer and a plain black bandeau under it. I'll probably just wear it with the H&M booties that I have. It's what I would wear to the fair or a concert or music festival- so many options. I'm wearing it with some plain cubic zirconium studs, the necklace that I wear daily (part of it of it is from a necklace at MSI. Nerdy, I know but it actually represents something) and some bracelets that I got in Greece and a Mudlove one from this camp I went to this summer.

This next outfit is a shirt that I got from (don't judge) Stein Mart for like $2. It's got a really cool pattern and I know I can pair it with any bottoms. I'm wearing some jeans from Forever 21 that are basically super comfy and this braided white belt from TJMaxx (?, but thanks Mom for buying them). I'll wear it with some strappy sandals that have pearls and crystals on them and it's slightly gold. I got these sandals from The Shoe Department (I'm literally there all the time).

I got this shirt from Stein Mart too for $5. I guess I just like old lady stores, no shame. Actually when I saw this shirt, I ran to it, like an actual sprint, and all these old ladies turned around and stared at me. It was worth it for the shirt and the really cheap price that I got it for. A shirt like this at like Anthropologie would have cost way wayyyyyyyy more. I'm just wearing it with some leggings here but if I was wearing it to school, I would switch to jeans. I'm wearing Steve Madden oxfords with this outfit and let me tell, I love these shoes. They're like cutout/laser print design and they're classy at the same time. And I really like how the laces are ribbon and not the typical shoe laces. TJMaxx is my holy grail. Just saying. I'm wearing these cute key earrings from Earthbound that my friend also got for me.

I was so excited about this one dress that I just bought from (guess where?) TJMaxx because it's like flowy but also has cool cinching around the middle and has a neat little zipper on the side too. I didn't try it on until I got home and it's a romper. But it's still cute so I'll still wear it. I'm considering taking it to an alterations place to get pockets in it and changing it into a dress, but I don't feel like spending all that money for a fairly inexpensive romper. I'm wearing it with my other Steve Madden oxfords that have the neon pink toe and are getting fairly beaten up now. I'll be wearing either these black arrow earrings or gold pyramid stud earrings with it. And I have my Alex and Ani Gemini bracelet on too.

For super casual days (every day in other words) I'll be wearing something like this tie dye muscle shirt that I actually tie dyed myself. And just a word of advice, put the tie dyed clothes in the washer by itself first. Don't put other clothes in there because all the color will get on other clothes. I literally love those t-shirt in a bag deals in the guys' department at like Walmart because the shirts are so versatile and you can DIY them to your heart's content. I'll wear this shirt with some shorts and my galaxy Vans that I DIYed myself; there should be a blog post about how I did it. I just have those normal cubic zirconium earrings back in.

I actually really love this romper because not only is it collared but it has pockets and it's not impossible to get off when I have to go to the bathroom really bad. Another TJMaxx find that I'll pair with sandals or H&M boots, depending on the weather. I've got the plain cubic zirconium earrings in again.

I got this crop top and skirt at Pacsun as part of their buy 1 get 1 free sale. I love the way these two pieces go together. I'll wear them with sandals or boots again. I'm wearing these black and white chevron earrings with the outfit.

On days where I want to look a little nicer, I'll pull out this Urban Outfitters dress. I love this dress except for the fact that it's high-low. The mesh makes it look a little edgy but the sweetheart neckline keeps it girly. I'm pairing it with sandals or some wedges and a pair of mismatching earrings (one rose, one bow)

Hi my shoe lovers! Sam Edelman Gigi sandals are so popular and seen on the feet of every celeb during the summer. However at $65 a pop for a pair of sandals, I've got some lookalikes for you guys!

1. Black Poppy Woven T Strap Sandals ($22.50 at Pacsun online; FREE SHIPPING ON SHOES!) 

These look incredibly similar and at one third of the cost!

2. Metallic Cord Thong Sandals ($8.80 at Forever 21) 

This is a crazy deal, especially for a lookalike!

3. AEO Faux Snakeskin Sandals ($29.95 at American Eagle Outfitters)

These have a little twist with an added little side part, but they look really cute (and alike) and $30 might be a little pricey, but it's better than $65!

4. VS COLLECTION WING CHARM SANDAL (was $58, now $28 on sale at Victoria's Secret)

Not a bad deal for Victoria's Secret and these look really good too.

TRAVEL OUTFIT IDEAS

Hi my little jet setters! So I know a lot of you might be frequent fliers as well and one thing I've learned that flying in uncomfortable clothes will be the most awful flight of your life. I have some travel outfits along with some hair and other tips to make your flights the best, not the worst, trip.

So my outfits for flights are all layers, since it's ridiculously cold on most planes. I usually wear leggings since they're comfy and look better than just sweats (even though I love my sweatpants!) You can find a good pair of leggings anywhere, like Forever 21 or Pacsun. Pacsun has some really cute patterned ones to dress up a plain outfit. Now onto the tops! So I really like tank tops with a cardigan with a nice layered scarf on top. I'll tell you what my ensemble will probably be for my upcoming flight.

1. Brandy Melville Sadie Moon Tank ($17-25)
This would go underneath everything and it's really comfy and relaxed as well as functional and cute. Brandy Melville is a tad overpriced but it is so worth it!
2. BDG Classic Cardigan ($29)
This is literally the ideal cardigan and it's soft and soft again. Wearing this over the tank top will prevent you from being super cold and you'll look cute.
3. Charlotte Russe Eyelash Fringe Infinity Scarf ($10.99)
So we just got a Charlotte Russe in town and it's seriously the greatest thing ever. It'll keep you warm on the plane and if it gets too warm, you can take it off. It adds a little pop of neon in the outfit.

And for shoes, anything will go. I wouldn't really recommend strappy sandals, more like Vans or oxfords or something.

And for hair, I suggest a simple French braid so when you get off the plane, you'll have effortless beach waves. Either that or a messy updo or bun, it doesn't really need to be fancy. And makeup, if you really insist, go cream not powder. Powder will become cakey and icky. But skin care is very important since it's all recycled air on the airplane. Lotion and moisturizer is essential for plane skin.
One last tip would be taking hand sanitizer and Airborne with you to stay healthy. No one wants to go on vacation sick.

Closet Essentials: Swimsuits!

Hi my beach beauties! So it's probably spring break for most of you and I'm sorry this probably won't help then, but if you still need a swimsuit I've got your back. So these will be most accommodated to my body type which would be athletic: smaller chest and thicker legs, but with rocking abs. This are great because you need to look cute for that boy! Maybe, or you just want to look nice on the beach which is awesome too. Let's get started!

1. Billabong Jade Stringer Bikini (Top and bottoms are $29.95, total is $59.90 at Pacsun)
So this is just a really cute bikini and I really like the design. I like the triangle top because it gives better coverage in my opinion, and the bottoms are cute too. I do recommend getting a larger size in swimsuits in general (Don't worry, you're still a skinny mini!) because of the shrinkage and coverage. My biggest tip is TRY IT ON! Unless you're absolutely sure/ have no other options, which is not good. At least go into the store and see if it's available there. It might be awkward, but think of all the other awkward situations you're avoiding.


2. Beach Sexy Ruffle Push-Up Bandeau Bikini (Top $36.50, Bottoms $20.50, total $57.00 at Victoria's Secret)
I LOVE VICTORIA'S SECRET BIKINIS. They're seriously so cute and so worth the money. I will admit, it might look a little risque in the store, but they are so nice. I really like this pair, even though I probably would try to avoid the bandeau thing. Bad experience, especially since I got nothing going on up top. You can figure it out. My rule now is the bandeau needs a tie behind the neck as well as the middle clasp. This is floral and polka dots! How can you say no?



3. Balboa Island Swim Triangle Bikini (Top $24.50, bottoms $19.50, total $43.00 at Hollister)
Okay I admit, I'm not a huge fan of Hollister but last year, my roommate had the cutest bikini from Hollister so I decided to branch out this year. This one is really cute, it's blue with this lighter blue pattern on it and I think it will look great on the beach.




4. Atomic Hottie Bikini (Top $74.00, bottom $58.00, total $132.00 at Betsey Johnson)
I love Betsey Johnson soooooooooooo much, it's undeniable. This will look so cute in the sun and against a tan. The pattern is really nice and I really like it.

Valentine's Day Date Outfit Ideas!

Hi my sweet cherubs! So Valentine's Day is one short week away and I know some of you ladies might not have an outfit yet, so here are my suggestions with every date "category", and I hope you all have a great Valentine's day. If you don't have a Valentine, you've always got me! I gotchu. Alright, let's get rolling!

1. Relaxed and Romantic
This one is for like grabbing a movie (Rom-com anyone?), a nice dinner, or something along those lines (I'm still waiting for my late-night Starbucks run!). You want to be cute but not over-dressed so let's talk!

Okay, so this top is from Love Culture and it has crochet flowers and stripes, and it would look so good with a black pencil skirt and if you want a cover-up because of weather, a navy or black fitted blazer (Nice quality, not cottony ones.) or maybe that Valentine will be a man and hand his over. Awwwww.

Okay so this is a risqué, lacy glam dress and it's really flirty and perfect for a date. It will be so cute with basically anything, and I would most likely wear this, you know, if I had a Valentine but psh. Grab some heels and watch those heads turn!


2. Active and Practical
So if your date is like mini golf or something that requires a lot of walking/moving, heels probably aren't a good choice. Here are my thoughts!

So this is a cute peplum, slimming stripes and it comes in a bunch of colors from... Guess where? URBAN OUTFITTERS!i would throw together slim-fitting black skinnies with some cute short heels maybe, or some flats/boots (Troopas huh?) and accessorize with appropriate jewelry, probably geometric things to match the shape of the peplum and the stripes.

So this skirt is super adorable, and I think it would be perfect with a shirt with the bows in the back like Macbarbie07 DIYed on YouTube. Cute and functional, goal accomplished.

3. Cozy and Comfy
Hey if you don't have a Valentine, but you have Netflix and food, I got you covered too.

Owl sweater, say what? No explanation needed!
And the Pacsun one with the bear was just cute. Aw.

Closet Essentials: The Oxfords

Hi my wonderful Valentines! Yes, it's true, you guys are my valentines because I LOVE YOU. So chin up, you always have someone who loves you. Okay anyways, today I wanted to talk about another closet essential. I know, it's been a while right? So oxfords are my go-to shoes usually, rep that menswear as womenswear trend. They're classy, without being super formal and show off your style too. They go well with most outfits, from button-downs to a shirt tucked into jeans. So let's see some oxfords that me gusta, and I hope you gusta as well (in case you couldn't tell, I don't take Spanish. Frenchie fo life. Yeah, okay no more wannabe gangster talk).

1. Steven by Steve Madden Caril Cap-Toe Oxfords ($130.00)
Okay so I know, these are a little expensive, but I love all things Madden and especially these oxfords. They even have cutouts and the toe color block thing that I love so much. And there are so many different colors as well so they'll suit a lot of people. I have a feeling the girly, love everything glittery girls would love the glittery ones. They'll match with everything girly and it'll be crazy.
         

2. Jeffery Campbell "William" Oxford ($120.00)
Don't worry my wonderfuls, I do have some less pricey oxfords up next. But I love Jeffery Campbell everything, and seriously? Just look at these babies. They have heels and all.

3. MIA Studded Oxford Flats ($39.50 at Pacsun)
In case you haven't noticed by now, I'm really into the oxfords being the big "statement" part of an outfit that really pulls the whole ensemble together so cut-outs, funky colors, and studs are all a plus in my closet. It can instantly change the outfit from fancy to punk rocker-ish, especially with these beauts while keeping it all pulled together and tidy. P.S. Please tell me I'm not the only one who stands at Pacsun and stares at the wall of shoes for ages. It's just so enticing, must curb self!


4. Blowfish Neat Black Crochet Oxfords ($49 at Lulus.com)
Ah, I love all things crochet: big slouchy sweaters, TOMS, and these oxfords of course. I really need a pair like this, why no money in my pocket? But these are la-la-lovely and Lulus.com always has the greatest stuff.

5. Steve Madden Oxfords ($89)
And you guys know that I love my neon pops of color, and these Maddens (LOVE) fit that taste so nicely. So nicely. Especially since it's that neon Tiffany blue shade.


Okay so those were my thoughts on oxfords, and I'm slightly raring to buy more shoes. Oh yeah, I'm really close to caving on that American Apparel crewneck, I can feel it taunting me every time I go to the website. And I'm really glad that a lot of you liked my OOTD, I'll post some more in that case. And I will probably start a series for prom, for all you lovely prom-goers out there.
