Timberlands Lookalikes

Hello my lovelies! I hope you're all having a good week. I've been a bit stressed since it's finals week for me (yay for the trimester system). However, I have had time to look for some cute new fall and winter boots. I usually have problems with gross slushy Midwest winter and sadly, the past winter, I fell numerous times due to my fashionable, yet not quite functional shoes. So here I am, proclaiming a new love for badass, tough-girl Timberland boots. However, not all of us can fork over $120, especially on a minimum wage budget. So I've found some lookalikes for all of us girls still looking to stay fashionable, but not break the bank.

1. Union Bay Macon Boot ($29.99, but usually $50)
These boots are a dead ringer for the famous Timberlands that I long for, yet don't have money for. I find these are a good substitute.

2. Esprit Forest Lug Boots ($24.99, usually $40)

These look like the Union Bay boots almost to a tee. Oh yeah, this pair and the first one are both from TJMaxx, where I have recently rediscovered a love for their products.

3. Rock & Candy Bulldozer Booties ($44.95, not $65)

These cool booties also are very similar to the pricey Timberlands, but I like these because they come in a variety of colors as well. They come in a winey-burgundy, a dark military green, and the standard tan. These are from DSW aka my heaven.

4. Dirty Laundry Remix Bootie ($59.95, not $70)

These have a little twist compared to the typical Timberlands. I'm not sure how these shoes hold up to the actual boots in term of grip and functionality, but hey they're definitely a different option for girls who love heels and the outdoors. These have a 3 and a half inch heel but the heel looks pretty thick so it should be fairly comfy.

Okay and those are some cheaper alternatives to the widely popular Timberland boots. Happy shopping and have a great week!

Summer Lookbook

Hola friends! Long time, no see, which I know is my fault. I promise I'll try to post more regularly from now on! I've been really caught up in college applications and training for this half-marathon, which is turning out to be crazy hard. You can follow my running adventure if you'd like on my running blog: http://anthearuns.wordpress.com/ and/or my twitter @Anthearun

So lately, I've gotten some new things and I'll show you guys some outfits!

A lot of people have seen this shirt and my friend surprised me with this shirt for my birthday along with a couple of other gifts. It's a Brandy Melville crop top, but she got it at Pacsun. It's super comfy and I can wear anywhere. I can make it look soft grunge with a flannel over it and some leggings. I can wear it with some shorts and sandals or when I'm just lounging around. Here I have some high waisted slightly destroyed shorts that I DIYed last summer and a plain black bandeau under it. I'll probably just wear it with the H&M booties that I have. It's what I would wear to the fair or a concert or music festival- so many options. I'm wearing it with some plain cubic zirconium studs, the necklace that I wear daily (part of it of it is from a necklace at MSI. Nerdy, I know but it actually represents something) and some bracelets that I got in Greece and a Mudlove one from this camp I went to this summer.

This next outfit is a shirt that I got from (don't judge) Stein Mart for like $2. It's got a really cool pattern and I know I can pair it with any bottoms. I'm wearing some jeans from Forever 21 that are basically super comfy and this braided white belt from TJMaxx (?, but thanks Mom for buying them). I'll wear it with some strappy sandals that have pearls and crystals on them and it's slightly gold. I got these sandals from The Shoe Department (I'm literally there all the time).

I got this shirt from Stein Mart too for $5. I guess I just like old lady stores, no shame. Actually when I saw this shirt, I ran to it, like an actual sprint, and all these old ladies turned around and stared at me. It was worth it for the shirt and the really cheap price that I got it for. A shirt like this at like Anthropologie would have cost way wayyyyyyyy more. I'm just wearing it with some leggings here but if I was wearing it to school, I would switch to jeans. I'm wearing Steve Madden oxfords with this outfit and let me tell, I love these shoes. They're like cutout/laser print design and they're classy at the same time. And I really like how the laces are ribbon and not the typical shoe laces. TJMaxx is my holy grail. Just saying. I'm wearing these cute key earrings from Earthbound that my friend also got for me.

I was so excited about this one dress that I just bought from (guess where?) TJMaxx because it's like flowy but also has cool cinching around the middle and has a neat little zipper on the side too. I didn't try it on until I got home and it's a romper. But it's still cute so I'll still wear it. I'm considering taking it to an alterations place to get pockets in it and changing it into a dress, but I don't feel like spending all that money for a fairly inexpensive romper. I'm wearing it with my other Steve Madden oxfords that have the neon pink toe and are getting fairly beaten up now. I'll be wearing either these black arrow earrings or gold pyramid stud earrings with it. And I have my Alex and Ani Gemini bracelet on too.

For super casual days (every day in other words) I'll be wearing something like this tie dye muscle shirt that I actually tie dyed myself. And just a word of advice, put the tie dyed clothes in the washer by itself first. Don't put other clothes in there because all the color will get on other clothes. I literally love those t-shirt in a bag deals in the guys' department at like Walmart because the shirts are so versatile and you can DIY them to your heart's content. I'll wear this shirt with some shorts and my galaxy Vans that I DIYed myself; there should be a blog post about how I did it. I just have those normal cubic zirconium earrings back in.

I actually really love this romper because not only is it collared but it has pockets and it's not impossible to get off when I have to go to the bathroom really bad. Another TJMaxx find that I'll pair with sandals or H&M boots, depending on the weather. I've got the plain cubic zirconium earrings in again.

I got this crop top and skirt at Pacsun as part of their buy 1 get 1 free sale. I love the way these two pieces go together. I'll wear them with sandals or boots again. I'm wearing these black and white chevron earrings with the outfit.

On days where I want to look a little nicer, I'll pull out this Urban Outfitters dress. I love this dress except for the fact that it's high-low. The mesh makes it look a little edgy but the sweetheart neckline keeps it girly. I'm pairing it with sandals or some wedges and a pair of mismatching earrings (one rose, one bow)

I hope this gives you guys a little look into my summer closet and I hope you guys have enjoyed the weather! I've had a lot of fun this summer and I still have a lot more fun things planned for the rest! Have some fun and have a great day!

ANOTHER HAUL: CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPHOLIC?

Hi my shopaholics! So yes I have indeed caved again to the higher power called impulse shopping. I go into a store needing two things and I leave with two bags. Needless to say, I have a haul! So let's get started!

1. Batiste Flirty and Floral Dry Shampoo ($7 at CVS)
So I originally thought they only carried this dry shampoo at Urban Outfitters which made me pretty sad since I don't have one around. But I saw this at CVS and I had to scoop it up. It smells nice and it works a lot better than any other dry shampoo I've tried. Two thumbs up!
2. L'OReal Ceramide Shampoo and Conditioner
This is the black bottles with gold caps in case you can't find it! These work really well and they smell really clean, if that makes sense. My hair is noticeably less frizzy and under control!
3. Neutrogena Wave Pad Deep Cleanse
I have a Neutrogena Wave, which is like the Clarisonic Mia microdermabrasion thing. And I got a refill on the cleansing pads. Yayyy. I do recommend getting one though, they work really well on dry skin.
4. Maybelline Gel Plush Mascara
I really don't like this mascara very much. It has a flexible wand which has no purpose and it takes so long to put a few coats on. And you can't even do the whole index card trick when you're trying to put this on.
5. Freeman Cucumber Peel Mask
I highly recommend the Freeman line for masks. This cucumber one leaves your face feeling soft and clean while taking off all the dirt and oil.
6. 9 Feet Long iPhone Charger
This is seriously the best invention I've ever seen. It's way better than the flimsy three feet charger that allows no movement when you charge your phone. And this charger comes in a nice myriad of colors. I found mine at CVS but I'm sure they're sold in most stores.
7. Tie Dye Scarf
So I got this as a gift from one of my friends for my birthday (THANK YOU!) and it's a really pretty yellow/purple/peridot tie-dye infinity scarf that will look so nice with a tee.
8. Striped Sunglasses
I got these as a gift too and they're just oversized, neon striped sunglasses! They go really well with every outfit.
9. Maxi Skirt
I got this from TJMaxx, it's just a plain black maxi skirt made of really nice material. I can also pull it up to make it an effortless strapless dress so yay.
10. Kate Spade iPhone Case
So if you know Kate Spade, all the cases are $40 which is depressing. However I walked into TJMaxx and there was this case that I've been looking at for ages and it was just $16. I felt like it was fate calling my name... And my otterbox tore so I definitely needed it. It says "He said, she said #talkischeap" and i really like it!

Okay so that's my big collective haul! Hope you all have a great day!

OOTD: Spring Flirt

Hi my flowers! Long time no see! So today I've got a ootd for you guys and this is one of my favorite spring ensembles! So let's get started.

So what I wore:
A floral sundress from TJMaxx underneath everything.
A sheer blouse with black lining, also TJMaxx.
A woven skinny brown belt from Forever 21.
Steve Madden Taxxi oxfords.
Gold Stud earrings by Capelli.
Betsey Johnson panda necklace.
BCBG Sweetheart bracelet and my own watch.

I got a lot of compliments on this today! It's super cute and there's so many variations to go with this. Oh, I also just curled my hair and then sprayed the NYM beach babe through it. Okay, so now you can all see the pictures and my narcissistic selfies. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot but shout out to all my Wanelo and twitter followers that read my blog. Kisses and hugs to you all for being so great and supportive. For the future, you can probably expect a raving rant about The Great Gatsby. I love love love Leonardo DiCaprio and already the trailers and the soundtrack is fantastic, hands-down. I'm really excited to see how it'll go, and I hope it meets my expectations! Alrighty it's bed time for me! XOXO have a wonderful week beautifuls! DFTBA.
