OOTD: dresses in october

Hi peeps! What's cracking? Today I have another OOTD because I want to bring my summer things into fall too! So I have put together an outfit perfect for Midwest fall weather...

1. The floral dress from TJMaxx that I wear way too much (but I'm shameless)
2. Sheer black tights
3. White cami
4. Blood orange v-neck by BDG (Urban outfitters, you da bomb)
5. Cardigan by Forever 21
6. My good old Madden Taxxi Oxfords

And here are pictures! Also the oxfords are pink but they seem to match the shirt in the pictures. Okay peace out Girl Scouts!

TRAVEL OUTFIT IDEAS

Hi my little jet setters! So I know a lot of you might be frequent fliers as well and one thing I've learned that flying in uncomfortable clothes will be the most awful flight of your life. I have some travel outfits along with some hair and other tips to make your flights the best, not the worst, trip.

So my outfits for flights are all layers, since it's ridiculously cold on most planes. I usually wear leggings since they're comfy and look better than just sweats (even though I love my sweatpants!) You can find a good pair of leggings anywhere, like Forever 21 or Pacsun. Pacsun has some really cute patterned ones to dress up a plain outfit. Now onto the tops! So I really like tank tops with a cardigan with a nice layered scarf on top. I'll tell you what my ensemble will probably be for my upcoming flight.

1. Brandy Melville Sadie Moon Tank ($17-25)
This would go underneath everything and it's really comfy and relaxed as well as functional and cute. Brandy Melville is a tad overpriced but it is so worth it!
2. BDG Classic Cardigan ($29)
This is literally the ideal cardigan and it's soft and soft again. Wearing this over the tank top will prevent you from being super cold and you'll look cute.
3. Charlotte Russe Eyelash Fringe Infinity Scarf ($10.99)
So we just got a Charlotte Russe in town and it's seriously the greatest thing ever. It'll keep you warm on the plane and if it gets too warm, you can take it off. It adds a little pop of neon in the outfit.

And for shoes, anything will go. I wouldn't really recommend strappy sandals, more like Vans or oxfords or something.

And for hair, I suggest a simple French braid so when you get off the plane, you'll have effortless beach waves. Either that or a messy updo or bun, it doesn't really need to be fancy. And makeup, if you really insist, go cream not powder. Powder will become cakey and icky. But skin care is very important since it's all recycled air on the airplane. Lotion and moisturizer is essential for plane skin.
One last tip would be taking hand sanitizer and Airborne with you to stay healthy. No one wants to go on vacation sick.

Safe travels, see you next time!

OOTD: Spring Flirt

Hi my flowers! Long time no see! So today I've got a ootd for you guys and this is one of my favorite spring ensembles! So let's get started.

So what I wore:
A floral sundress from TJMaxx underneath everything.
A sheer blouse with black lining, also TJMaxx.
A woven skinny brown belt from Forever 21.
Steve Madden Taxxi oxfords.
Gold Stud earrings by Capelli.
Betsey Johnson panda necklace.
BCBG Sweetheart bracelet and my own watch.

I got a lot of compliments on this today! It's super cute and there's so many variations to go with this. Oh, I also just curled my hair and then sprayed the NYM beach babe through it. Okay, so now you can all see the pictures and my narcissistic selfies. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot but shout out to all my Wanelo and twitter followers that read my blog. Kisses and hugs to you all for being so great and supportive. For the future, you can probably expect a raving rant about The Great Gatsby. I love love love Leonardo DiCaprio and already the trailers and the soundtrack is fantastic, hands-down. I'm really excited to see how it'll go, and I hope it meets my expectations! Alrighty it's bed time for me! XOXO have a wonderful week beautifuls! DFTBA.

What's in my Bag?

Hi my smartie-tarties, how are you? I'm not at school today thanks to our great presidents. So today I wanted to talk about what's in my bag because people like to know this sort of thing to see new products and stuff like that. So I usually carry my crossbody, it's a Nine West one and a gift from one of my friends.

It looks like this, and it's got adjustable straps and it's super great and surprisingly big. So I'll tell you what's in it right now. So in the front pocket, I have a compact mirror, a tube of Baby Lips in Twinkle, a Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake (pretty pop of pink!), and some cough drops. I usually throw my Q-tips case in here in case I want to touch up or something like that. And also the Twinkle was limited edition with Coral Crush so you might not be able to find them now but I'm not sure.

Okay so now onto what's in the big pocket: my Steve Madden wallet/phone holder (mine is neon orange, not pink but I was too lazy to walk upstairs and get it), a pen and pencil, gum, and sunglasses (except right now I don't have any, still missing my beautiful Maddens.) And usually I'll stuff some more things into it, like food or something when I'm running late. And hopefully soon I'll add keys to my list of things in my bag, yikes!

Okay that's all for now, bye my beautifuls! Muah, XOXO
P.S. Look at what I'm pretty sure I'm about to indulge in. Neons baby! And I don't even care if it's a guy shirt, whatever.

Closet Essentials: The Oxfords

Hi my wonderful Valentines! Yes, it's true, you guys are my valentines because I LOVE YOU. So chin up, you always have someone who loves you. Okay anyways, today I wanted to talk about another closet essential. I know, it's been a while right? So oxfords are my go-to shoes usually, rep that menswear as womenswear trend. They're classy, without being super formal and show off your style too. They go well with most outfits, from button-downs to a shirt tucked into jeans. So let's see some oxfords that me gusta, and I hope you gusta as well (in case you couldn't tell, I don't take Spanish. Frenchie fo life. Yeah, okay no more wannabe gangster talk).

1. Steven by Steve Madden Caril Cap-Toe Oxfords ($130.00)
Okay so I know, these are a little expensive, but I love all things Madden and especially these oxfords. They even have cutouts and the toe color block thing that I love so much. And there are so many different colors as well so they'll suit a lot of people. I have a feeling the girly, love everything glittery girls would love the glittery ones. They'll match with everything girly and it'll be crazy.

2. Jeffery Campbell "William" Oxford ($120.00)
Don't worry my wonderfuls, I do have some less pricey oxfords up next. But I love Jeffery Campbell everything, and seriously? Just look at these babies. They have heels and all.

3. MIA Studded Oxford Flats ($39.50 at Pacsun)
In case you haven't noticed by now, I'm really into the oxfords being the big "statement" part of an outfit that really pulls the whole ensemble together so cut-outs, funky colors, and studs are all a plus in my closet. It can instantly change the outfit from fancy to punk rocker-ish, especially with these beauts while keeping it all pulled together and tidy. P.S. Please tell me I'm not the only one who stands at Pacsun and stares at the wall of shoes for ages. It's just so enticing, must curb self!

4. Blowfish Neat Black Crochet Oxfords ($49 at Lulus.com)
Ah, I love all things crochet: big slouchy sweaters, TOMS, and these oxfords of course. I really need a pair like this, why no money in my pocket? But these are la-la-lovely and Lulus.com always has the greatest stuff.

5. Steve Madden Oxfords ($89)
And you guys know that I love my neon pops of color, and these Maddens (LOVE) fit that taste so nicely. So nicely. Especially since it's that neon Tiffany blue shade.

Okay so those were my thoughts on oxfords, and I'm slightly raring to buy more shoes. Oh yeah, I'm really close to caving on that American Apparel crewneck, I can feel it taunting me every time I go to the website. And I'm really glad that a lot of you liked my OOTD, I'll post some more in that case. And I will probably start a series for prom, for all you lovely prom-goers out there. I'm still too much of an underclassman to go, but maybe an upperclassman will ask.... Someday. Oh yes, I just reignited my love for Dogeared jewelry, and now want to buy everything! I'll probably do a post on it soon. Alright, I have to go now, stay happy and gorgeous. Bye, muah! XOXO

Oxblood and Oxfords: This Season's Trends

Hi! So I don't usually do fashion blogs but I decided "Eh, what the heck." Especially since the supposed apocalypse is supposed to happen tomorrow. If that does happen and it ends being like The Host, and I'm left, I want to be left with someone hot like Ryan Reynolds. Or Bradley Cooper. Just putting it out there. Anyway I just wanted to talk about this winter's trends and my yay/nay on them.

1. Oxblood
Okay so first off the name is weird, which I automatically like, but after a few minutes of googling, it doesn't seem to be the actual color of ox blood like from the cow-like animals. So I think dark colors like burgundy, gray, and dark purple are always "in" for the fall/winter season, but this is the ideal color for now at least. It's a wine-y, burgundy-maroon fusion and seems to match well with, well, everything. I've seen it as the hot new shade for riding boots/booties, scarves, blouses, jeans, EVERYTHING. I actually really like it though, especially as a scarf maybe with a slouchy, oversized cream sweater and leggings. Anyway, onto the next trend..

2. Oxfords
So I really really love these. These are a must-have for any woman with class, and I am a total sucker for these. Something about the clean-cut feeling and girly classiness of them just draws me in. I really like the ones from Delia's and just about any other non-chunky pair. The patterned ones with the slight colorblock are really nice, and I've seen a lot of people with them. And the heels are always a plus too.

3. Booties
I didn't know for a long time what booties really were, but now I think I have a pretty good general idea to go off of. They're the short boots, usually go up to your ankles and sometimes have a little roll-over thingy on them. Anyway, they are really cute and go with generally everything from what I've seen. I should really consider getting a pair; I have been eyeing a pair from Zappos that are black with a paisley pattern on the folded over side. They really need a common name for that.

4. Crewnecks
COMFORT IS IDEAL IN MY CLOSET. SO IS LOOKING CUTE. And crewnecks are the closest solution I have for this. They're warm, go well with jeans, and can elevate you from bum status to casually cute effortlessly. Needless to say, they are my winter staple. Actually my all-year staple. And the ones from Forever and American Apparel are on point.

5. Cardigans
You can never have enough of these, they're like the basic but best layering piece in the whole entire world. Stick a button-down and one of these babies together and bam! You're ready to head out and look chic at the same time. Bam! Cue my cheesy confession time: I actually really like Old Navy and Gap for cardigans even though Old Navy is full of preteen girls and Gap is on the verge of closing in my town. I don't know, cardigans can be found everywhere just like if you're a nurse looking for a job. Just saying.

6. Chambray
Okay this is the last one because I want to go watch Elf.These denim-y button down shirts are PERFECT. I don't know what else to say about them because they are so great. Grrrrrr-eat. Like that one cereal with the tiger, corn flakes or something like that?

Okay so I hope you've enjoyed reading this. If not, cool. If so, yay! Yeah I just realized I have nothing I don't like on this list. Sorry! Anyway, I hope the world doesn't end, if it doesn't it's not the end of the world (HAHA! Punny, see what I did there?) and travel safe and have a good holiday season. Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah/Happy Kwanza.
