Summer Lookbook

Hola friends! Long time, no see, which I know is my fault. I promise I'll try to post more regularly from now on! I've been really caught up in college applications and training for this half-marathon, which is turning out to be crazy hard. You can follow my running adventure if you'd like on my running blog: http://anthearuns.wordpress.com/ and/or my twitter @Anthearun

So lately, I've gotten some new things and I'll show you guys some outfits!

A lot of people have seen this shirt and my friend surprised me with this shirt for my birthday along with a couple of other gifts. It's a Brandy Melville crop top, but she got it at Pacsun. It's super comfy and I can wear anywhere. I can make it look soft grunge with a flannel over it and some leggings. I can wear it with some shorts and sandals or when I'm just lounging around. Here I have some high waisted slightly destroyed shorts that I DIYed last summer and a plain black bandeau under it. I'll probably just wear it with the H&M booties that I have. It's what I would wear to the fair or a concert or music festival- so many options. I'm wearing it with some plain cubic zirconium studs, the necklace that I wear daily (part of it of it is from a necklace at MSI. Nerdy, I know but it actually represents something) and some bracelets that I got in Greece and a Mudlove one from this camp I went to this summer.

This next outfit is a shirt that I got from (don't judge) Stein Mart for like $2. It's got a really cool pattern and I know I can pair it with any bottoms. I'm wearing some jeans from Forever 21 that are basically super comfy and this braided white belt from TJMaxx (?, but thanks Mom for buying them). I'll wear it with some strappy sandals that have pearls and crystals on them and it's slightly gold. I got these sandals from The Shoe Department (I'm literally there all the time).

I got this shirt from Stein Mart too for $5. I guess I just like old lady stores, no shame. Actually when I saw this shirt, I ran to it, like an actual sprint, and all these old ladies turned around and stared at me. It was worth it for the shirt and the really cheap price that I got it for. A shirt like this at like Anthropologie would have cost way wayyyyyyyy more. I'm just wearing it with some leggings here but if I was wearing it to school, I would switch to jeans. I'm wearing Steve Madden oxfords with this outfit and let me tell, I love these shoes. They're like cutout/laser print design and they're classy at the same time. And I really like how the laces are ribbon and not the typical shoe laces. TJMaxx is my holy grail. Just saying. I'm wearing these cute key earrings from Earthbound that my friend also got for me.

I was so excited about this one dress that I just bought from (guess where?) TJMaxx because it's like flowy but also has cool cinching around the middle and has a neat little zipper on the side too. I didn't try it on until I got home and it's a romper. But it's still cute so I'll still wear it. I'm considering taking it to an alterations place to get pockets in it and changing it into a dress, but I don't feel like spending all that money for a fairly inexpensive romper. I'm wearing it with my other Steve Madden oxfords that have the neon pink toe and are getting fairly beaten up now. I'll be wearing either these black arrow earrings or gold pyramid stud earrings with it. And I have my Alex and Ani Gemini bracelet on too.

For super casual days (every day in other words) I'll be wearing something like this tie dye muscle shirt that I actually tie dyed myself. And just a word of advice, put the tie dyed clothes in the washer by itself first. Don't put other clothes in there because all the color will get on other clothes. I literally love those t-shirt in a bag deals in the guys' department at like Walmart because the shirts are so versatile and you can DIY them to your heart's content. I'll wear this shirt with some shorts and my galaxy Vans that I DIYed myself; there should be a blog post about how I did it. I just have those normal cubic zirconium earrings back in.

I actually really love this romper because not only is it collared but it has pockets and it's not impossible to get off when I have to go to the bathroom really bad. Another TJMaxx find that I'll pair with sandals or H&M boots, depending on the weather. I've got the plain cubic zirconium earrings in again.

I got this crop top and skirt at Pacsun as part of their buy 1 get 1 free sale. I love the way these two pieces go together. I'll wear them with sandals or boots again. I'm wearing these black and white chevron earrings with the outfit.

On days where I want to look a little nicer, I'll pull out this Urban Outfitters dress. I love this dress except for the fact that it's high-low. The mesh makes it look a little edgy but the sweetheart neckline keeps it girly. I'm pairing it with sandals or some wedges and a pair of mismatching earrings (one rose, one bow)

I hope this gives you guys a little look into my summer closet and I hope you guys have enjoyed the weather! I've had a lot of fun this summer and I still have a lot more fun things planned for the rest! Have some fun and have a great day!

SUMMERTIME ESSENTIALS: SHORT SHORTS

Hi my wonderfuls, hope you're all doing lovely! I'm so sorry I haven't posted recently, I've been super bogged down with homework and clubs and blah. So let's talk short shorts, because I know everyone has a pair or two (guys, you can admit it too!) and they're super hot for the summer! Ha ha, punny right? No? Okay I'll stop now. So short shorts are comfy and keep us cool, while looking hot! I will also have some that aren't cling-to-your-leg shorts for those who don't like that. Let's go!

1. Hollister Low Rise Short Shorts in Khaki ($25.00)
I do like my shorts to have a little bit more than just denim, and I really like khaki. Full on khaki pants can look a little iffy, but these will look nice with most outfits and the fit on these is so wonderful, you'll wonder why you didn't have these before. They would look nice with a little V-neck or a tank top or something like that. You'll look more dressy than just denim shorts if you catch my drift.

2. American Eagle Hi Rise Black Festival Shorties ($39.95)
Okay so American Eagle pants are overpriced, but hey if you've got a spare $40 these shorts are a total catch! They're black so they match with many things, and they've got a little distress and punk-y rips to complete the look. AND THEY'RE HIGH WAISTED! And if you couldn't tell they're for people who appreciate the "Coachella, music festival" summer look.

3. Forever 21 High Waisted Lace Shorts ($15.80)
First off isn't this the greatest steal ever? These shorts are soo cute with black lace and they're comfortable. I know Forever has a problem with quality but seriously for less than 20 bucks, this is awesome!

Okay so those are some shorts that are perfect for summer! Let me know what you think, talk to you soon XOXO

Summer Lovin' and Wanelo!

Hi my beautiful bright eyes! Okay so first things first, I get Kate Spade emails and from now on, I'll try to come up with creative color descriptions like "bazooka pink" or something. Anyway, so today I just wanted to talk about some summer objects that I've been eyeing recently and will probably get now so I can be prepared. Like a Girl Scout. Hahaha, sorry guys I'm jamming out to this playlist on songza (BETTER THAN PANDORA. WHAT.) that is seriously labeled "Pop Divas of the '00s" and it is the best for late night blogging.

So I got this app the other day, and items called Wanelo and it's basically like Pinterest but instead of repinning and liking, you can either save the object or buy it if you really like it. The things on there are so great and it's so crazy addictive. P.S. If you wanna follow, it's soccergirl1614. You know you want to, follow for a follow? Okay so that's Wanelo. Shout out to my first follower: veramb! Follow her!

Okay, so summer things I want badly, mostly all thanks to Wanelo.
1. Urban Outfitters Heart Aviators ($16.00)
So I had Maddens (The name's Madden. Steve Madden.) last summer and unfortunately they broke because they might have fallen off my face in the middle of a busy Chicago intersection. Oops. My mother wasn't too happy to hear that. But Urban has these really cute aviators, and I'll probably get these super soon.

2. Kearas Tribal Decal for Beats by Dre ($28.08)
Cute addition to the traditional Beats, adds some personal style and touch.

3. iPhone case by Spires ($35.00)
There are so many colors and designs! It reminds me of Gotye's music video for "Someone I used to know" which was one of my favorite songs this past summer.

4. Victoria's Secret PINK Water Bottle ($12.50)
Water is super important in the summer and it just gets cuter in this PINK water bottle. And when you're working out, you can think about your legs in yoga pants as motivation! You got this girl!

5. American Apparel Chicago Pullover ($42.00)
Okay so I love Chicago and this is a picture from some street, I can't really see the picture. The only thing that stops me about getting this is the price tag. A little steep for a pull over, but we'll see when I give in and get it.

6. American Eagle V-Neck ($15.95)
This was one of the white shirts I talked about in my closet essentials, and it's a guy shirt which makes me love it just that much more. It's breezy and nicely cut, I just love it.

7. Freshtops.com No Sleeves Crop Top Starbucks Top ($23.00)
Now everyone can know my public obsession with Starbucks, huzzah! This would look so cute with a cuffed black blazer, with the pin stripe cuffs. Just my thinking.

8. Free People Globe Necklace ($58.00)
Free People is just one of those stores that pulls me in every time, and this necklace is no exception. I fall head-over-heels HARD for Free People accessories, like the flag scarf and now this necklace. Something about the worn-in, slightly vintage motif attracts me like a fat kid and candy.

9. Urban Outfitters Treasure Island Necklace ($30.00)
So this necklace is very Betsey-esque but yet has some distinct differences like the skulls (which have been seen on so many bracelets, but I can't force myself to fork out $10 for one.) It's really cute though especially with so much going on.

10. Red Anchor Messenger ($29.50)
I think this would be the perfect beach tote, pop in a towel, sunglasses, even a beach ball! And the anchors really give it that ocean-y, nautical feeling which I love. I have a scarf like it.

11. Kate Spade Sandals ($158.00 at Nordstrom)
So these are so cute and they come in a bunch of different styles which I really like, but the price is very dislikable which makes me sad. But if I had the money to, one day, spend $160 on sandals these are the ones that I would run to.

Okay so those are some things I plan to get before summer time, and I will have a swimsuit edition up soon after a few more posts. I might post a few OOTD blogs sometime so you guys can really see my style on me instead of reading about it all the time. Oh so I thought this would be fun, the GRAND TOTAL for the ten items(not counting those sandals...) is $290.03. Something tells me I might not be able to afford everything I want, but I'm sure I'll be caving in for the American Apparel Pullover super soon. I get paid next Monday anyway, so we'll see how thin the paycheck can spread. Bye my lovelies! XOXO
