Summer Lookbook

Hola friends! Long time, no see, which I know is my fault. I promise I'll try to post more regularly from now on! I've been really caught up in college applications and training for this half-marathon, which is turning out to be crazy hard. You can follow my running adventure if you'd like on my running blog: http://anthearuns.wordpress.com/ and/or my twitter @Anthearun

So lately, I've gotten some new things and I'll show you guys some outfits!

A lot of people have seen this shirt and my friend surprised me with this shirt for my birthday along with a couple of other gifts. It's a Brandy Melville crop top, but she got it at Pacsun. It's super comfy and I can wear anywhere. I can make it look soft grunge with a flannel over it and some leggings. I can wear it with some shorts and sandals or when I'm just lounging around. Here I have some high waisted slightly destroyed shorts that I DIYed last summer and a plain black bandeau under it. I'll probably just wear it with the H&M booties that I have. It's what I would wear to the fair or a concert or music festival- so many options. I'm wearing it with some plain cubic zirconium studs, the necklace that I wear daily (part of it of it is from a necklace at MSI. Nerdy, I know but it actually represents something) and some bracelets that I got in Greece and a Mudlove one from this camp I went to this summer.

This next outfit is a shirt that I got from (don't judge) Stein Mart for like $2. It's got a really cool pattern and I know I can pair it with any bottoms. I'm wearing some jeans from Forever 21 that are basically super comfy and this braided white belt from TJMaxx (?, but thanks Mom for buying them). I'll wear it with some strappy sandals that have pearls and crystals on them and it's slightly gold. I got these sandals from The Shoe Department (I'm literally there all the time).

I got this shirt from Stein Mart too for $5. I guess I just like old lady stores, no shame. Actually when I saw this shirt, I ran to it, like an actual sprint, and all these old ladies turned around and stared at me. It was worth it for the shirt and the really cheap price that I got it for. A shirt like this at like Anthropologie would have cost way wayyyyyyyy more. I'm just wearing it with some leggings here but if I was wearing it to school, I would switch to jeans. I'm wearing Steve Madden oxfords with this outfit and let me tell, I love these shoes. They're like cutout/laser print design and they're classy at the same time. And I really like how the laces are ribbon and not the typical shoe laces. TJMaxx is my holy grail. Just saying. I'm wearing these cute key earrings from Earthbound that my friend also got for me.

I was so excited about this one dress that I just bought from (guess where?) TJMaxx because it's like flowy but also has cool cinching around the middle and has a neat little zipper on the side too. I didn't try it on until I got home and it's a romper. But it's still cute so I'll still wear it. I'm considering taking it to an alterations place to get pockets in it and changing it into a dress, but I don't feel like spending all that money for a fairly inexpensive romper. I'm wearing it with my other Steve Madden oxfords that have the neon pink toe and are getting fairly beaten up now. I'll be wearing either these black arrow earrings or gold pyramid stud earrings with it. And I have my Alex and Ani Gemini bracelet on too.

For super casual days (every day in other words) I'll be wearing something like this tie dye muscle shirt that I actually tie dyed myself. And just a word of advice, put the tie dyed clothes in the washer by itself first. Don't put other clothes in there because all the color will get on other clothes. I literally love those t-shirt in a bag deals in the guys' department at like Walmart because the shirts are so versatile and you can DIY them to your heart's content. I'll wear this shirt with some shorts and my galaxy Vans that I DIYed myself; there should be a blog post about how I did it. I just have those normal cubic zirconium earrings back in.

I actually really love this romper because not only is it collared but it has pockets and it's not impossible to get off when I have to go to the bathroom really bad. Another TJMaxx find that I'll pair with sandals or H&M boots, depending on the weather. I've got the plain cubic zirconium earrings in again.

I got this crop top and skirt at Pacsun as part of their buy 1 get 1 free sale. I love the way these two pieces go together. I'll wear them with sandals or boots again. I'm wearing these black and white chevron earrings with the outfit.

On days where I want to look a little nicer, I'll pull out this Urban Outfitters dress. I love this dress except for the fact that it's high-low. The mesh makes it look a little edgy but the sweetheart neckline keeps it girly. I'm pairing it with sandals or some wedges and a pair of mismatching earrings (one rose, one bow)

I hope this gives you guys a little look into my summer closet and I hope you guys have enjoyed the weather! I've had a lot of fun this summer and I still have a lot more fun things planned for the rest! Have some fun and have a great day!

OOTD x 2

Hello my lovelies! So this week has been a mess, to put it nicely. Also good luck to all those who have midterms and finals next week, may the odds be ever in your favor *cue Hunger Games music*
So I have, not 1, but 2 OOTD b/c I was too lazy to type OOTD twice. Here we go!

1st OOTD
• teal high-low shirt from Urban Outfitters
• black jeans from Calvin Klein
• combat boots from G by Guess
• owl necklace from Forever 21

2nd OOTD
• coral dress from Pacsun
• black tank top from Forever 21
• coral scarf with umbrellas from Anthropologie
• white cardigan from Ann Taylor
• sheer black tights
• black belt from TJMaxx
• (my overworn) Steve Madden oxfords

Also in case, you were wondering about weather here, it is currently about 20 degrees today which is probably highly unreasonable weather to wear a dress but YOLO (lamest YOLO moment ever might I add). Have a great day and stay warm!

SEPHORA & URBAN OUTFITTERS HAUL

Hi my summer-lovers! Hope you're all doing well and having a great summer! Or last few days of school if you're not out yet! So I have a pretty good haul for you guys, let's get started!

So first from Sephora!
1. Rocking in Rio Stila Palette ($20?)
I got this as a gift for one of my friends and it looks really nice. It has the shades Capacabana (nude), Samba (taupe), Bossa Nova (light gray), Carnavale (dark gray), Ipanema (electric blue), and Freesia (blush- rosy pink).
2. Origins Set ($40) + Sephora Body Wash Capsule ($1!)
I got this as a gift as well for my mother who will hopefully like it! It has a moisturizer, active charcoal mask (yikes!), cleanser, and skin guardian. I also got the Origins Plantscripitions cleanser and threw in a baby REN Glycol Lactic Mask. The Sephora body wash is in the scent Green Tea. Yum.
3. Samples!
I got the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner and I still have to try them! I also got the Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara and this does wonders for my lashes. They could literally blown someone off their feet with one blink. Exaggerations, oh how I love you. Not to mention, I also got the Benefit birthday goodies because my birthday is this week! And it has the They're Real Mascara and the Watt's Up highlighter. I haven't tried either so I'll get an update on this.

Okay now to Urban Outfitters, who currently has free shipping for no price requirement. Aghhh why couldn't this happened last week? Anyway, hang in there! We're halfway through the stuff.

4. Heartbreaker Sunglasses ($16)
These are really cute and I've been eyeing these for literally A YEAR. I'm really glad I got them now though.
5. BDG Polka Dot Backpack
I got this to go along with my friend's gift but I thought it would be nice if she needed a light bag to carry things in if she's on the beach or on a walk.
6. Curtis LOVE ME tee
Okay so I got this on a whim and now I think I'm going to cut it into a muscle tee, and I'll post a tutorial if I do. The sizing is a little strange though; I'm usually a Small  and I got Medium in case I messed up when I cut it, and now without altering, it fits like a Small.
7. Palm Coast Earrings
This is a set of four pairs of earrings that were cute. And I needed to hit $50 for free shipping. Enough said.
8. Silence and Noise Buttondown Shirt
So this shirt is high-low, teal, and sheer. Need I say more?
9. Mesh Sweetheart Dress by Doe and Rae
Seriously I can't believe this dress was only TEN DOLLARS. And it comes in two colors! Why I didn't get both, I have no clue. It's gorgeous and it has mesh instead of cutouts which is nice. It's also high-low.
10. Bite Me Lip Gloss Crayon in Movie Star
LAST THING! So I got this randomly too, mainly because I liked the packaging and bam! It lasts forever and has great color payoff. I got this in a red, but it's also available in pink and nude.

Okay that's all I've got! Thanks for reading! Bye!

TRAVEL OUTFIT IDEAS

Hi my little jet setters! So I know a lot of you might be frequent fliers as well and one thing I've learned that flying in uncomfortable clothes will be the most awful flight of your life. I have some travel outfits along with some hair and other tips to make your flights the best, not the worst, trip.

So my outfits for flights are all layers, since it's ridiculously cold on most planes. I usually wear leggings since they're comfy and look better than just sweats (even though I love my sweatpants!) You can find a good pair of leggings anywhere, like Forever 21 or Pacsun. Pacsun has some really cute patterned ones to dress up a plain outfit. Now onto the tops! So I really like tank tops with a cardigan with a nice layered scarf on top. I'll tell you what my ensemble will probably be for my upcoming flight.

1. Brandy Melville Sadie Moon Tank ($17-25)
This would go underneath everything and it's really comfy and relaxed as well as functional and cute. Brandy Melville is a tad overpriced but it is so worth it!
2. BDG Classic Cardigan ($29)
This is literally the ideal cardigan and it's soft and soft again. Wearing this over the tank top will prevent you from being super cold and you'll look cute.
3. Charlotte Russe Eyelash Fringe Infinity Scarf ($10.99)
So we just got a Charlotte Russe in town and it's seriously the greatest thing ever. It'll keep you warm on the plane and if it gets too warm, you can take it off. It adds a little pop of neon in the outfit.

And for shoes, anything will go. I wouldn't really recommend strappy sandals, more like Vans or oxfords or something.

And for hair, I suggest a simple French braid so when you get off the plane, you'll have effortless beach waves. Either that or a messy updo or bun, it doesn't really need to be fancy. And makeup, if you really insist, go cream not powder. Powder will become cakey and icky. But skin care is very important since it's all recycled air on the airplane. Lotion and moisturizer is essential for plane skin.
One last tip would be taking hand sanitizer and Airborne with you to stay healthy. No one wants to go on vacation sick.

Safe travels, see you next time!

SUMMERTIME ESSENTIALS: SUNGLASSES

Hi my spring breakers! Hope you're all having a great time/ had a good time! And if you didn't get a spring break, become a student again. Just kidding. Okay so I'm going to start a bit of a new line of blog posts to get you guys ready for SUMMER! This is more of an add-on to the closet essentials but just for summer. Alright let's get started! Sunglasses are really important in the summer, because they shield your eyes from the sun and they can look super cute at the same time. Why not knock out two birds with one stone? (Or however that phrase goes...)

1. Heartbreaker Sunglasses ($16 online only at Urban Outfitters)
These are great, they're aviators basically but they have a heart frame on the outside, but it's not that cheap plastic-y thick frame. You know what I'm saying. I really like these and I've been meaning to get them but laziness and no money strikes me.

2. Ray-Ban Rare Print 78 Original Wayfarer ($165 at Ray-Ban)
I don't think I have to really explain the appeal of Ray-Bans. They're well-made, it's free shipping on all orders, and they're just so cool. These are the rare print sunglasses and I really like them. Just the no money thing, you know.

Original Wayfarer Top Texture On Black / G-15 XLT
3. Forever 21 Wayfarer Sunglasses F0330 ($5.80)
These have the cutest pattern on them and they would be perfect for summer.

Okay so those are some sunglasses I found that I liked. If you have any suggestions, tell me! XOXO

What's in my Bag?

Hi my smartie-tarties, how are you? I'm not at school today thanks to our great presidents. So today I wanted to talk about what's in my bag because people like to know this sort of thing to see new products and stuff like that. So I usually carry my crossbody, it's a Nine West one and a gift from one of my friends.

It looks like this, and it's got adjustable straps and it's super great and surprisingly big. So I'll tell you what's in it right now. So in the front pocket, I have a compact mirror, a tube of Baby Lips in Twinkle, a Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake (pretty pop of pink!), and some cough drops. I usually throw my Q-tips case in here in case I want to touch up or something like that. And also the Twinkle was limited edition with Coral Crush so you might not be able to find them now but I'm not sure.

Okay so now onto what's in the big pocket: my Steve Madden wallet/phone holder (mine is neon orange, not pink but I was too lazy to walk upstairs and get it), a pen and pencil, gum, and sunglasses (except right now I don't have any, still missing my beautiful Maddens.) And usually I'll stuff some more things into it, like food or something when I'm running late. And hopefully soon I'll add keys to my list of things in my bag, yikes!

Okay that's all for now, bye my beautifuls! Muah, XOXO
P.S. Look at what I'm pretty sure I'm about to indulge in. Neons baby! And I don't even care if it's a guy shirt, whatever.

Valentine's Day Date Outfit Ideas!

Hi my sweet cherubs! So Valentine's Day is one short week away and I know some of you ladies might not have an outfit yet, so here are my suggestions with every date "category", and I hope you all have a great Valentine's day. If you don't have a Valentine, you've always got me! I gotchu. Alright, let's get rolling!

1. Relaxed and Romantic
This one is for like grabbing a movie (Rom-com anyone?), a nice dinner, or something along those lines (I'm still waiting for my late-night Starbucks run!). You want to be cute but not over-dressed so let's talk!

Okay, so this top is from Love Culture and it has crochet flowers and stripes, and it would look so good with a black pencil skirt and if you want a cover-up because of weather, a navy or black fitted blazer (Nice quality, not cottony ones.) or maybe that Valentine will be a man and hand his over. Awwwww.

Okay so this is a risqué, lacy glam dress and it's really flirty and perfect for a date. It will be so cute with basically anything, and I would most likely wear this, you know, if I had a Valentine but psh. Grab some heels and watch those heads turn!

2. Active and Practical
So if your date is like mini golf or something that requires a lot of walking/moving, heels probably aren't a good choice. Here are my thoughts!

So this is a cute peplum, slimming stripes and it comes in a bunch of colors from... Guess where? URBAN OUTFITTERS!i would throw together slim-fitting black skinnies with some cute short heels maybe, or some flats/boots (Troopas huh?) and accessorize with appropriate jewelry, probably geometric things to match the shape of the peplum and the stripes.

So this skirt is super adorable, and I think it would be perfect with a shirt with the bows in the back like Macbarbie07 DIYed on YouTube. Cute and functional, goal accomplished.

3. Cozy and Comfy
Hey if you don't have a Valentine, but you have Netflix and food, I got you covered too.

Owl sweater, say what? No explanation needed!
And the Pacsun one with the bear was just cute. Aw.

Okay so I hope this maybe kinda sorta helped, and I hope everyone's dates goes well. Muah XOXO!

Summer Lovin' and Wanelo!

Hi my beautiful bright eyes! Okay so first things first, I get Kate Spade emails and from now on, I'll try to come up with creative color descriptions like "bazooka pink" or something. Anyway, so today I just wanted to talk about some summer objects that I've been eyeing recently and will probably get now so I can be prepared. Like a Girl Scout. Hahaha, sorry guys I'm jamming out to this playlist on songza (BETTER THAN PANDORA. WHAT.) that is seriously labeled "Pop Divas of the '00s" and it is the best for late night blogging.

So I got this app the other day, and items called Wanelo and it's basically like Pinterest but instead of repinning and liking, you can either save the object or buy it if you really like it. The things on there are so great and it's so crazy addictive. P.S. If you wanna follow, it's soccergirl1614. You know you want to, follow for a follow? Okay so that's Wanelo. Shout out to my first follower: veramb! Follow her!

Okay, so summer things I want badly, mostly all thanks to Wanelo.
1. Urban Outfitters Heart Aviators ($16.00)
So I had Maddens (The name's Madden. Steve Madden.) last summer and unfortunately they broke because they might have fallen off my face in the middle of a busy Chicago intersection. Oops. My mother wasn't too happy to hear that. But Urban has these really cute aviators, and I'll probably get these super soon.

2. Kearas Tribal Decal for Beats by Dre ($28.08)
Cute addition to the traditional Beats, adds some personal style and touch.

3. iPhone case by Spires ($35.00)
There are so many colors and designs! It reminds me of Gotye's music video for "Someone I used to know" which was one of my favorite songs this past summer.

4. Victoria's Secret PINK Water Bottle ($12.50)
Water is super important in the summer and it just gets cuter in this PINK water bottle. And when you're working out, you can think about your legs in yoga pants as motivation! You got this girl!

5. American Apparel Chicago Pullover ($42.00)
Okay so I love Chicago and this is a picture from some street, I can't really see the picture. The only thing that stops me about getting this is the price tag. A little steep for a pull over, but we'll see when I give in and get it.

6. American Eagle V-Neck ($15.95)
This was one of the white shirts I talked about in my closet essentials, and it's a guy shirt which makes me love it just that much more. It's breezy and nicely cut, I just love it.

7. Freshtops.com No Sleeves Crop Top Starbucks Top ($23.00)
Now everyone can know my public obsession with Starbucks, huzzah! This would look so cute with a cuffed black blazer, with the pin stripe cuffs. Just my thinking.

8. Free People Globe Necklace ($58.00)
Free People is just one of those stores that pulls me in every time, and this necklace is no exception. I fall head-over-heels HARD for Free People accessories, like the flag scarf and now this necklace. Something about the worn-in, slightly vintage motif attracts me like a fat kid and candy.

9. Urban Outfitters Treasure Island Necklace ($30.00)
So this necklace is very Betsey-esque but yet has some distinct differences like the skulls (which have been seen on so many bracelets, but I can't force myself to fork out $10 for one.) It's really cute though especially with so much going on.

10. Red Anchor Messenger ($29.50)
I think this would be the perfect beach tote, pop in a towel, sunglasses, even a beach ball! And the anchors really give it that ocean-y, nautical feeling which I love. I have a scarf like it.

11. Kate Spade Sandals ($158.00 at Nordstrom)
So these are so cute and they come in a bunch of different styles which I really like, but the price is very dislikable which makes me sad. But if I had the money to, one day, spend $160 on sandals these are the ones that I would run to.

Okay so those are some things I plan to get before summer time, and I will have a swimsuit edition up soon after a few more posts. I might post a few OOTD blogs sometime so you guys can really see my style on me instead of reading about it all the time. Oh so I thought this would be fun, the GRAND TOTAL for the ten items(not counting those sandals...) is $290.03. Something tells me I might not be able to afford everything I want, but I'm sure I'll be caving in for the American Apparel Pullover super soon. I get paid next Monday anyway, so we'll see how thin the paycheck can spread. Bye my lovelies! XOXO
