Valentine's Day Date Outfits Revamped

Hello my valentines (haha so punny), I hope you're doing well! I was sifting through my old posts the other day and I realized that one of my most popular posts was about Valentine's Day Date Outfits, but it was from two or three years ago. So this year I have decided to revamp it with my current style in mind, which is probably dramatically different from two or three years ago. Here we go!

1. 50 Shades of Red

This is a take on the classic LBD, but instead it's the LRD (little red dress), which is classy yet seductive for Valentine's Day. I've added a few choices with matching lip sticks, but feel free to add your own twist on it! This is a classic look which is sure to impress your date while ensuring you look great. The ASOS one on the left is definitely my favorite; it's lace and mesh and A-line and just overall heart eyes.

2. Ladies who wear the pants

This set of outfits is geared more towards the ladies who would prefer pants over a dress, but would still like to look composed and nice for a date night. The left look begins as a classy look with the burgundy button down, but the leather leggings add that rocker edge. The right look is for more casual dates with a cropped sweater and burgundy skater skirt. I've added gold accessories to both looks to make more of a statement against the darker colors, but feel free to go without them. For shoe options, I picked ankle boots for the leather look, black point flats for both looks, and a set of heels for the skirt outfit, just to elevate the casualness.

3. Anti-Valentine's Day

This set is for my ladies who are just chilling with some friends or just hanging out watching chick flick marathons with a large pizza and popcorn. I've picked some comfy Victoria's Secret tops, joggers, my favorite Nike shorts, and Nike sweats for these outfits. Ironically enough, all of the outfits are in black or grey, but I think it's because 99% of my clothes are those two colors. I've also added in a few shoe options for midnight store runs or if you need to go out and get something.

Okay, I hope these outfits will help all of you as you pick an outfit for Valentine's Day. As of right now, I'm pretty sure I will be picking some variation of the third outfit set and chilling with some friends and pigging out on food. I hope this helps and have a great week!

LAZY GIRL GUIDE TO: WINTER COATS

Hello! So I know that in the Midwest, it's already starting to get cold and it'll be cold for the next five months which stinks. So I wanted to make a lazy girl guide to coats (apologies to all the people in California or Florida since this post doesn't really apply to you guys) I've picked out a few coats that will be functional, fashionable, and will be weather-proof for the multiple feet of snow that we're supposed to get. I'm not really looking forward to this winter at all, especially since our fall was so short. Okay, anyways, let's get started:

1. Forever 21 Faux Fur-Lined Parka ($83 online)

This coat may be a little pricey for Forever 21, but I've felt this coat in-store and it feels HEAVENLY. It is so soft and I can tell that the lining will definitely keep you warm on those days where the wind is super cold and frigid. This parka also has a hood (in case you forget a hat!), a zipper and buttons (double protection), pockets, and cute elbow patches. I think this parka is definitely functional and fashionable for the cold weather! I also love this military green color and I think you guys will see that throughout these coats.

2. ASOS Faux Fur Hooded Detachable Lined Parka ($86, currently SOLD OUT)

Okay this coat is pretty similar to the Forever 21 coat, but I liked it because it has more pockets and zippers as decoration on the coat and ASOS also has better quality than Forever 21 usually so although this coat may be a little more expensive, the quality will be good. I know that it is currently sold out (bummer because I wanted one), but I'll have an update when they come back out again.

3. Express Classic Trench Coat ($89.60)

This coat is perfect for the ladies who still want to have that classic look without being freezing. This Express coat is just the epitome of classic trench coat/Serena van der Woodsen look and I think it would be perfect with matching winter accessories like gloves, a hat or a scarf. The khaki color of this coat also makes it that much more classy, but this coat also comes in a black hue.

4. Echo Design Ombre Multi Stripe Tube ($38 on Zappos)

Since I talked about accessories in the previous coat, I'd thought it would only be fair to include some of them. This scarf is from Zappos and not only looks fashionable, but it is also made of a durable material that will keep your neck warm this winter. Personally I hate when a coat doesn't cover my neck area and part of me is left freezing so I scour websites for the best scarves. This scarf also comes in a red and blue ombre which leads to many possibilities on winter days, especially to brighten up an outfit.

5. Neff Beanie (around $15)
I think everyone has seen these famous beanies and I think beanies are perfect for winter days. They cover your ears and your head and keep your head warm. It also comes in a variety of colors and can cover up any bad hair day. These are just perfect for the grunge girl or just any girl looking to save herself from the dreadful hair day.

Okay, that's all for me! These are just some ideas for this upcoming winter season for all of my ladies living in a cold place too. I know it might not be applicable to everyone, especially those in negative degree weather, but hopefully it's a start!

Closet Essential: HIGH-LOW

Hi my wonderfuls, sorry I've been AWOL the past few days, finals week is killing me! But we did get the day off today so I just might be the happiest physics student ever, now having an additional weekend to study. Perks of Midwest weather! Okay so one of my personal favorite trends is high-low, especially in skirts and dresses. I don't mind it in tops; in fact I have a high-low sweater but I prefer it in bottoms. It looks flowy and accentuates your legs, making them look longer and leaner like those Victoria's Secret models. Okay so let's get started!

1. Forever 21 High-low Chiffon Skirt ($14.50)
Okay so chiffon is one of my favorite fabrics (Does that sound weird? Oh well...) but it's breezy and it reminds me of summer instantly, no matter what. This skirt would be a great way to welcome in the warm weather and show off those legs girl! Oh and it's in mint, a must-have pastel for spring. Two trends in one, you go get them! P.S. Forever 21, I love you.

2. Forever 21 Pointed Collar Chiffon Shirt ($22.80)
So I know, one of Forever's more pricey shirts. But the chiffon, and the color clash between coral and hot pink, and the buttons! Ah, it is simply too lovely and I would gladly pay a little more just for this beauty. I need it! Oh and this model apparently has a 22.5 waist and a 32D bust. How is that even possible?

3. Warehouse Stud Collar Mesh High-low Hem Dress (Asos.com originally $93.25, marked down to $50.02!)
Um first check out the price reduction! Do you see that? Half off! And second, check it out! Studded Peter Pan collar and versatile!

:

Okay so that's my take on high-low, sorry I've been gone! And I'll see you next time, hopefully with a DIY post! Muah, XOXO!

Closet Essentials: Scarves

Hi my beauts, long time no see! Hope you've all checked out the chick flick list which basically describes my post-Valentine's Day weekend. So I wanted to talk about a closet essential that I love, love, love! Scarves can add a touch to a plain outfit and take it to a whole other direction. I usually wear them with a classic shirt with a top knot or beachy, wavy hair and black/normal jeans with flats or Vans. Toss on a loose hoodie or oversized cardigan and out the door I go! So let's talk about some scarves.

1. Lilly Pulitzer- Murfee Scarf ($118)

This brand is known for its iconic resort designs with the beachy scents and these scarves are no exceptions. They have silk and cashmere with fringe at the end, and with bright pops of color they'll be sure to turn any outfit from blah into bam! (In a good way of course!) This really is an investment but you'll definitely get your money's worth out of it. If you want a cheaper alternative but still with the Pulitzer touch, the Murfette scarf is a good alternative for only $78.

2. Nike U.S. Soccer USA Scarf ($29.99 at TodoFut.com)
Nike U.S. Soccer USA Scarf - Click to enlarge
This one's for all my soccer ladies out there, you know who you are. It doesn't always require floral or girly patterns to have style. USA soccer for life!

3. ASOS Oversized Swan Print Scarf ($28.06)
Image 1 of ASOS Oversized Swan Print Scarf

I love scarves with animals, especially the scarves that are big and drapey like this one. It's simply gorgeous and I will probably get this soon, just saying.

4. ASOS Metallic Skull Print Scarf ($21.05)
Image 1 of ASOS Metallic Skull Print Scarf

So the skull trend is pretty hot lately and if you're not full-blown into it, this is a good way to start wading into  it.

Some ways to wear scarves in the summer!

And you guys can check out my DIY Quote scarf too if you want another option.
Alrighty I hope this is nice, and you guys like it! I'm craving a smoothie right now and I think I'm gonna go out and grab one. Bye lovelies, muah XOXO

OOTD: Casual and Breezy

Hi my bellas! So this is my ootd for a casual day, and I thought I would share.
So first, I French-braided my hair last night and shook it out this morning to get effortless waves with a little help from surf paste.
So onto my outfit, I wore a flowy black sheer sleeveless top, and it has ruffles and buttons and all that good stuff. I got it a little big so I could tuck it into my jeans (I know, lame...) It's from Asos, which you all know I love. And for my jeans, I'm wearing my Lucky Brand Zoe skinnies that are my favorite, hands-down. Oh yeah, I wore this with some flats but I forgot to get a picture. Oops. I paired it all with a necklace that I got from a friend, and it's blue and cream with sparkly links connecting each part. It's really heavy, but really pretty. I also brought my umbrella because I love cheetah and looking cute in the rain too. Oh and my earrings are purposely mismatched ones from a set from Forever 21 from my friend in Michigan (Thanks Sarah, love you!)
So that's my outfit of the day for today, tell me what you guys thought. Hope you're having a great week! Muah XOXO!
P.S. I forgot! My school has a dress code, so I threw this gray boyfriend cardigan over it all.

Closet Essential: The LBD

Hi my lovelies! Sorry I've been AWOL for a couple of days, but let's talk about the most ESSENTIAL closet piece, in my opinion: The Little Black Dress. So it's classic, it can be styled and worn several ways for so many occasions: parties, date night, etc. So here are a few I like:

1. ASOS Skater Dress With Slash Neck And Short Sleeves ($35.08)
So this is a totally classic black dress, and it cinches at the waist, showing off the skinny-mini waist and then it flares out but not to a crazy amount. The neckline makes it perfect for statement necklaces, and any type of shoes would go with this dress. This is my basic definition of the LBD, and it's a staple piece.
Image 4 of ASOS Skater Dress With Slash Neck And Short Sleeves

2. Vince Camuto Peplum Sheath Dress (Petite) (Sold at Nordstrom Rack, $59.97)
This dress is so adorable, and it is peplum, and it's a total steal especially from Nordstrom Rack. Unforunately it's sold out right now, but I think it'll be back in stock soon especially for Valentine's Day which will look super hot. And I'm really sorry but I couldn't get a good picture of it for you guys, but if you search it up, it's great!

3. Belted Satin Shirtdress ($27.80)
Shirtdresses are already super adorable, and the belt helps a lot. It's also high-low and super chic! And it's from Forever 21 which I kinda love a lot.

4. Silence & Noise Laser Beam Dress ($59.00)
This is from URBAN OUTFITTERS! Yikes, it is so cute! And it has a pattern and it goes onto the back, and it's just so great! Okay so maybe I can't get a picture on this too, but just look it up it's definitely the best!

Okay my lovelies, those are some LBDs to go check out and tell me what you think. Kisses, muah! XOXO

Closet Essentials: BOYFRIEND JEANS

Hi my lovelies, I'm bacccck! Actually, I've never left... anyways, today is another edition of one of my favorites. BOYFRIEND JEANS. They're great, stylish, and the right amount of wear and tear. So let's talk about them!

Boyfriend jeans are great, and they're good with everything, casual days and nicer days as well. They're appropriately baggy and makes you look like you gotta a boo thang (; unless you actually have one which reminds me, Valentine's Day is coming. And you are all my valentines, because I love all of you unconditionally.

1. J Brand Aiden Boyfriend Jeans ($209.00)

These are the IDEAL boyfriend jeans. They're baggy, distressed, and when they're cuffed, they are PERFECTION. Well, my idea of perfection at least. They would look super cute on a casual day with a flowy shirt, like the ones from Pacsun or something like that.

2. American Eagle Boy Jean ($49.99)

Okay, so just to clarify, these jeans are NOT the boyfriend jeans from American Eagle. The boyfriend ones look a little strange to me, like they're baggy and flared and not very boyfriend-ish. So I looked at these jeans and don't be fooled by the name because they're seriously really cute. And American Eagle is one of those clothing stores that I will buy jeans at. Like Hollister is a little iffy for me, but that's just me. Anyways, these are the boy fit jeans at American Eagle, and they're slouchy and comfy and just great. And it's a little more reasonably priced than the J Brand ones (A LOT MORE REASONABLE).

3. ASOS Vintage Wash Slim Boyfriend Jeans ($61.57)
Okay, first of all, I love ASOS but why 57 cents? That has absolutely no logic to it. Just saying. Okay so ASOS is one of my favorite stores, and these jeans are really nice. ASOS has really well-made, nice quality things so I highly recommend ASOS to everyone. So these jeans are slim, in case you haven't noticed from the name of the pants; the slimness allows them to look a little more put together, but still effortlessly distressed and boyfriend-y. Oh, by the way, look at this girl's thigh gap. I know now, as a soccer player that a thigh gap is now impossible to reach so I just pout and wish I had picked tennis as a kid. But I would never give up soccer.

:

4. Levi's Boyfriend Jeans Tinted Sky (Sold at ASOS, $184.70)

Okay so I know, these are a little on the pricey side, but I just saw the wash of these jeans and I kinda fell in love and decided to post it. So here they are! And oh by the way, those boots! I'm melting from jealousy.

Image 1 of Levi's Boyfriend Jeans

Okay so those are my thoughts on my favorite clothing item ever, BOYFRIEND JEANS. And you know, I don't have a boyfriend because boys are icky, but I actually do have plans for Valentine's Day. I feel so special. Okay, anyway these are just options and opinions, but hey they're called boyfriend jeans for a reason, feel free to ask him. It only makes sense. Alrighty then, now I'm just rambling. Bye darlings! Stay beautiful! (:

Lookalike: Steve Madden Troopa Boots

Hi my lovelies! Happy New Year and may this year be great for all of you. Okay now let's talk Steve Madden. Troopa boots are pretty infamous right now, known for their design and also for the price tag that goes along with them. Haven't seen them yet? Now you will have. Okay so they're pretty great, and I'm sure a lot of people have already given in and paid the $100 for them, but as a student that kind of money could pay for way more stuff than one pair of super cute boots. So how about some lookalikes for less?

1.FOREVER 21 ($34.80)
Okay, so these are the Forever 21 ones and pretty similar right? Maybe a few differences, but hey it would look weird if everyone was wearing the exact same pair of Troopas. These are only $34.80 so go for it!

2. PACSUN ($39.99)
Pacsun, you have pulled through again! So at first glance, I thought they were almost Troopas! And Pacsun quality is always nice, so these would be a good pair of lookalikes for only $39.99!

New Crochet Detail Bite Boots
3. PACSUN ($34.99)
So these aren't necessarily Troopas but they are cute if you like a spin on the classic combat boot. It's got a little heel and crochet detail but the same main guidelines as combat boots with the laces. Just another option for all the daring.
Image 1 of New Look Clark Lace Up Worker Boots
4. ASOS ($52.75)
These are the New Look Clark Lace Up Worker Boots, and the lookalike that I found on ASOS which I love by the way. But these are nice, and really good quality. ASOS is spot on. Just saying. But these are a little pricey compared to the others but I'm sure you'll get your money's worth out of these.

Product Image
5. SWEET BEAUTY ($47.99)
Beforehand, these are online so you might have to pay additional money for tax and shipping and all that, just to let you guys know. And again, these are for the ones okay with not-exactly Troopa style boots, because these have a little something something extra: the folded over pattern which is so cozy looking and very plaid. But these are just a variation that you could try out if you like it.

And okay, those are some lookalikes I found to fit different styles of people, but still go along with the Steve Madden Troopa craze. Tell me what you guys think and have a wonderful 2013!
